Gotta have me a Cheese Steak!

Last week on my way from Rutter’s to my second job, I stopped at the farm store on the Wrightsville exit off of route 30.  It was about 4:20 and I could hear my stomach growling, plus the fact that it was almost dinner could have contributed. So as I was scrolling through the menu on the kiosks, I couldn’t stop wandering what I wanted for dinner.

“Decisions, decisions,” I thought to myself. I could not make my mind up. So I narrowed my options down to a Steak Fajita, Grilled Chicken in Alfredo Sauce and a Cheese steak.

Whoa for a hungry girl, all of the above sounded delicious. My mouth could not stop watering and I know this sounds bad, but at that moment I was about to buy all three of them. I mean my stomach was to the point where it was growling so loud that the little 6-year-old boy next to me gave me this look of disgust, like “Geez girl, get a pizza.” And I just looked back at the kiosk and said “Hmmm, marinara!”

Yea I said “marinara,” and mozzarella cheese melted like a blanket over tender, juicy sirloin which sat comfortably in a warm, fresh, oven baked bun. “Ahhhhh. Okay enough with the nonsense,” I said to myself, “I only have five minutes.” So I pushed the button and then thought, “What the heck, might as well add on some fried pickles to my Cheese steak.”

So the button was pushed and the waiting began as well as the worrying. If it wouldn’t have been for my slow process of decision making I wouldn’t be running late. But then I remembered it! “THE TAKE FOUR,” I said in excitement as the 6-year -old looked at me and rolled his eyes. Haaha, that was funny.

Yeah ‘Take Four’ is an expression Rutter’s uses. It means that the deli employees strive to create your sandwich in 4 minutes. Well when I calculated the time in my head, I pushed the button with five minutes left till I’d be running late, so I would get my meal a minute ahead of deadline. “Superb!” I thought, “I only have like a minute left to wait!” And then voila, the women called my number and I was saying peace to the 6-year-old beside me. Gotta love Rutter’s.

p.s. the Cheese steak was to die for. Oh yea, and the pickles?  Well you already know how good they are.
