Rutter’s wants to make it more convenient to recycle glass and plastic bottles, aluminum cans and plastic food service containers by placing receptacle bins outside every Rutter’s store. So, the design needs to be easy to use and must complement the Rutter’s image.

DESIGN GUIDELINES:

• Designs must be original. (You may have someone else draw your design,
  but the idea must be your own.)
• The receptacle needs to be easy for the customer to deposit recyclable
  items, and it must be easy to empty.
• The location of the opening by which customers deposit their recyclable
  items must be clearly specified on the drawings.
• Because the receptacle will be placed outside, it must be able to be
  constructed of materials that hold up under changing seasonal demands
  and a variety of weather conditions. (Designers may specify or suggest
  the type(s) of material(s) used, but this is not required.)
• Drawings should indicate both the dimensions and the color scheme of the
  submitted design.
• Overall size of the receptacle should not exceed 30” in height, 24” in width
  and 24” in length.

SUBMISSION INFORMATION AND DEADLINES:

• Designs should be in the form of an artistic rendering (sketch).
• You may enter as many designs as you wish starting December 7, 2007.
• Your name, address and phone number must be marked clearly on the back
  of your submissions.
• Design submissions will not be returned. Do not send original artwork. Send
  black & white or color photo-copies of your design concepts.
• Submissions should be on paper (preferably white) no larger than 8.5”x11”.
  
• DESIGN ENTRIES MUST BE RECEIVED BY JANUARY 20, 2008.
  
• Entries can be mailed to, or dropped off at:

• Envelopes containing submissions must be marked “Rutter’s Farm Stores –
  Win Green”.

PRIZES AND JUDGING:

• One winning design will be chosen by a panel of Rutter’s store managers.
• Winner will be awarded a $500 gift card good at any Rutter’s store*

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1) What is the contest?

Within the next several months, Rutter’s will be offering customers the opportunity to recycle their empty cans, bottles, and food containers. Rutter’s would like to place a unique receptacle on the front porch of each store for customers to dispose of their recyclable containers. Rutter’s is looking for assistance in designing the container. Entries to the contest should be an artistic rendering of a proposed recycling container.

2) How do I submit an entry?

Entries may be submitted by mail or delivered to Rutter’s corporate office located at 2295 Susquehanna trail, York, PA 17404. Envelopes should be addressed to “Rutter’s Farm Stores – Win Green.”

3) Who determines the winner?

Entries will be judged by a group of Rutter’s Store Managers.

4) If I have a question that is not in this section, how do I submit a question?

Simply send an email to wingreen@rutters.com and your question(s) will be answered.

5) Are there any guidelines for the receptacle?

6) How many entries can I submit?

There is no limit to the number of entries that are submitted. Keep in mind that the winner is not randomly selected….each entry will be judged.

7) Should the container be drawn with separate compartments for each type of recyclable (glass, plastic, etc.) material?

The recyclable material can be commingled in the container, which means there only needs to be one (1) compartment configured for the container.

* All container designs submitted shall be the sole property of CHR Corp. and Rutter’s. Those submitting a container design
give up and relinquish any and all rights, title and interest in and to the container design. Those submitting container
designs agree that any decision by CHR Corp. and Rutter’s is final and in their absolute discretion and further waive any
claim based on similarity to the winning design. Winner receives a $500.00 gift card and no further compensation and
gives up and relinquishes any and all rights, title and interest in and to the winning container design.
