What makes Samuel Adams’ Octoberfest so good? The brew blends 4 different barley roasts to give it that signature smooth and sweet taste with notes of toffee and caramel. The beer is truly a malt lover’s autumn paradise.
In addition to Octoberfest, we also have a variety of other seasonal beers including Blue Moon’s Harvest Pumpkin Ale, Troegs Hop Knife, and Leinenkugel’s Harvest Patch Shandy.
These great options are fully stocked and ready crack open at any of our beer cave locations!
The Rutter’s located in Wrightsville right off of Route 30 started selling beer today after a remodel to accommodate a Rutter’s Beer Cave! This is our 4th Rutter’s in York County and our 10th store overall with a Beer Cave.
The ideal drinking temperature is 29 degrees, which is what we have our Beer Caves lowered to. Our customers will be able to choose from a wide assortment of craft, domestic, and imported beers and ciders. An additional summer selection is currently available, and will change out with the seasons. You can shop the selection of beer and cider between the hours of 7:00AM and 2:00AM on Monday thru Saturday and from 9:00AM to 2:00AM on Sundays. This is in compliance with PA Law.
“We are very excited to bring beer to our Wrightsville location. This is a Rutter’s that sees a lot of foot traffic because of its proximity to Route 30 and the Susquehanna River, and it worked out great that the store is not located in a dry municipality. We really are trying to get as many Rutter’s as we can to sell beer. Hopefully, we’ll have more soon to come,” said Robert Perkins, Vice President of Marketing.
Three more Rutter’s locations expanded their selection with wine on Friday, May 12th. The Rutter’s in Waynesboro, Mercersburg, and Hamburg all began wine sales last Friday. This makes 9 Rutter’s stores to sell beer, and 6 to sell both wine and beer!
Our customers are able to select from a variety of wines, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Riesling, and Merlot. This vast selection is arranged in front of the Beer Caves, inside the seating area.
Hours to buy wine do vary from beer, due to the PA Law Act 39. Customers are able to purchase wine Monday thru Saturday from 7:00AM until 11:00PM and on Sundays from 9:00AM until 11:00PM. Also, in conformity with Act 39, our customers will be able to purchase up to 3,000ml of wine. This equals 4 standard 750ml bottles and 2 large 1.5 liter bottles.
“Bringing wine to three more stores was a great way to kick-off another weekend. We are looking for more and more opportunities where we can give our customers what they need and provide them with the convenience they deserve. With summer right around the corner, this is the perfect time to expand our beer and wine selections,” said Robert Perkins, Vice President of Marketing.
In case you haven’t heard, Pennsylvania’s liquor laws have changed. At Rutter’s, we have started to launch Beer Caves around Central Pennsylvania, which are refrigerated rooms full of everyone’s favorite hoppy beverages. So far, we have opened Beer Caves at seven of our stores: Richland Avenue in York, Waynesboro, Leola, Mercersburg, Hamburg, Middletown, and Newberrytown. The caves offer you the convenience of grab-and-go coolers and a large walk-in cave set at 29 degrees with a huge selection of great craft, imported and domestic beers and ciders. The beverages are available in singles, 6 and 12 packs. To comply with the new law, customers can only purchase beer Monday to Saturday from 7:00 am until 2:00 am and on Sundays from 9:00 am until 2:00 am.
