It’s Time to Guac n Roll

It’s Time to Guac-n-Roll!

Even though it’s the middle of winter, guacamole is good any time of year! Rutter’s is happy to announce that guacamole has made its debut to our stores. Now you can enjoy guacamole on all of your Rutter’s favorite foods.

Try it on burgers, chicken, sandwiches, tacos, nachos, quesadillas, and much more. Rutter’s gives the option to add 1x, 2x, or even 3x’s the guacamole!!

The guacamole we eat today is delicious, but where did it all start? Who were the first people that took a look at this oblong, dark green, bumpy shell of a fruit (yes it is actually considered a fruit) and thought, “I’m going to eat that today?” We have the Aztec’s to thank for being the courageous taste testers.

Evidence shows that the first avocado trees were cultivated around 750 B.C. but the avocado itself dates back to 7,000 and 5,000 B.C. and is indigenous to south-central Mexico.  The Aztecs were the first to take the avocados and produce a mashed substance that included a mixture of salt, tomatoes, onions, and chili peppers. These are still the staple ingredients used in guacamole today.

So whether you’re in the mood to try something new, or you just can’t quite fill that craving for guacamole in the middle of winter, be sure to stop by Rutter’s and add some guacamole to your meal!
